We believe that kids deserve the best. So we celebrate when others recognize Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin as being among the best. That makes the last few weeks pretty exciting for us.
First was the announcement that we received Magnet recognition for the third time. Magnet status is awarded to health care organizations for quality patient care and nursing excellence and is nursing’s gold standard. Then came the wonderful cover story on Time magazine featuring our top-rated care for premature babies. Just two weeks ago the people of Wisconsin showed what they think about Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin by helping us raise $1.42 million through Dave and Carole’s Miracle Marathon on WKLH.
Now today, we are excited to announce the 2014-15 Best Children’s Hospitals report by U.S. News & World Report ranks Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin among the best in all 10 specialty areas. Seven of our programs are in the top 20. Cardiology and Heart Surgery is the #5 program in the nation.

It takes tremendous dedication and commitment to be considered among the best in the nation. The rankings are a testament to the collaboration and hard work throughout our hospital, and with our academic partners at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
I’m always happy when our work is recognized and awarded. However, I also feel that any award we receive is only meaningful because it reflects the impact we have on kids and their families. We’re honored and privileged to be making a difference in their lives. Because at the end of the day, that’s what we’re all here for.
