Pediatric cancer research

The MACC Fund Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin provides bench-to-bedside resources to transform cancer research for the next generation of children.

About the MACC Fund Center

The MACC Fund Center is nationally known for cancer disorders care and research. This makes the MACC Fund Center a natural home for translational cancer research. Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and the MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer) have long shared a common vision of finding cures for childhood cancer. In 2013, the MACC Fund pledged $10 million to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin to further cancer research in three areas:

  • Discovery and testing of new drug therapies
  • Increased use of cellular therapies
  • Further genetic research for personalized cancer therapies

Cancer-related research is the most active area at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Research Institute, with dozens of clinical trials under way. In addition to testing new approaches for the toughest-to-treat cancers, our researchers are working to improve the quality of life of all pediatric cancer survivors.
