Asthma/allergy practice opens at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin-Fox Valley
November 01, 2016
NEENAH – Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin-Fox Valley recently opened a new asthma/allergy practice for kids and adults. The hospital expects to treat about 1,600 asthma/allergy patients a year.
Dr. Becky Buelow came from Children’s Milwaukee location to serve as the clinic’s provider. The plan is to hire a nurse practitioner in 2018 to supplement the practice, according to Ann Cherone, director of northeast regional services at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin-Fox Valley.
“There’s been such a void in asthma/allergy services in the northeast Wisconsin pediatric marketplace,” Cherone said. “We’re so excited to have Dr. Buelow. She is such a caring, warm, collaborative and approachable provider who makes everyone feel comfortable.”
Buelow sees patients on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and she is currently accepting new patients. Buelow offers comprehensive tests, treatments and services to treat a full range of asthma, allergy and immune disorders.
Buelow moved to Neenah earlier this year with her husband, Matthew Buelow, MD, who became a full-time cardiologist at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin-Fox Valley hospital and clinics in July. He also previously treated patients at Children’s Milwaukee location.
The Buelows are parents to 20-month-old daughter, Charlotte, and twin boys born in July.
“It’s exciting starting a new practice from the ground up,” Becky Buelow said. “Our family has moved to this community and wants to be part of it. I look forward to bringing care closer to home for many families and to establish long-term relationships with them.”
Becky and Matthew Buelow earned their medical degrees and completed their residencies and fellowships at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She is an assistant professor of allergy/immunology in the pediatrics department at the Medical College, and he is an assistant professor of pediatric cardiology.
