Vaccines
Vaccines play an important role in keeping kids healthy and have been shown to be safe and effective. They are the best way to protect kids, families and our community from serious diseases. Since the germs that cause these diseases are still around today, getting vaccines at the recommended ages helps your kids stay healthy.
Children’s Wisconsin follows the American Academy of Pediatrics evidence-based immunization schedules. The schedule includes updated guidance for children and adolescents from birth to age 18. It is designed to protect children at the most vulnerable times in their development. Both the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices and the American Academy of Pediatrics recommend getting all routine childhood vaccines on time.
- Birth to 6 years old schedule: Your child needs vaccines as they grow! Recommended immunization schedule for birth to 6 years old.
- Children 7-18 years old schedule: Older children and teens need vaccines too! Recommended immunization schedule for 7-18 years old.
